Three of the suspects are members of Palestinian security forces and another was released as part of the Gilad Shalit prisoner exchange. The suspects are residents of Danaba and Tulkarm.
According to the Shin Bet, cell members were able to carry out seven attacks against IDF forces in the area before their arrest.
"During the investigation, various weapons were seized, including two 'Carlo' sub-machine guns, six pipe bombs and an improvised explosive device," the Shin Bet said in a statement.
In addition to the six suspects and the weapons seized, the Shin Bet said that "As part of the investigation, Ahmed Abd al-Qader, a resident of Tulkarm, was also arrested on suspicion of supplying the weapons used by the cell in last month's shooting attack."
"The investigation uncovered serious terrorist activity meant to harm IDF soldiers with the support of the Tanzim organization and operatives of the Palestinian Authority's security services," the Shin Bet said.
