Bnei Brak resident arrested after calling for attack on TLV Gay Pride parade

A 20-year-old from the city of Bnei Brak was arrested after posting on Facebook a message calling to carry out an attack on the Gay Pride parade in Tel Aviv, to be held this Friday.

Though the man posted another post saying he was only "bored," the police stated the young man was nevertheless brought in for questioning.

Coordinator of the Nir Katz Center for LGBT Violence in Tel Aviv Gil Fishoff noted that "Every year around the Gay Pride events we see a sharp increase in threats against members of the community with violent expressions and incitement." He added that "We work regularly with the Israel Police to examine each and every case on its merits in view of the tragic event of the murder of Shira Banki in the Jerusalem Parade in Jerusalem."
