The Jibril deal prisoner returned to Israel after 34 years—and was sent to life imprisonment
A special release committee in the northern district ruled that Yusuf Abu al-Hir, who was convicted of serious security offenses and released in the framework of the Jibril deal in 1983, will return to complete the full prison sentence imposed on him.
Two weeks ago, Abu al-Hir returned to Israel and was immediately arrested and brought before the parole board. A request was submitted to cancel his release and to force him to immediately serve the life sentence imposed by the military court. The parole board accepted the state's position.
