Netanyahu wants stricter restriction on foreign funding to NGOs

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told coalition party leaders on Sunday he wanted stricter restrictions on foreign funding to Israeli NGOs.
The contentious NGOs law, which passed in the Knesset last July, requires NGOs to give details of overseas donations if more than half their funding comes from foreign governments or international bodies.
Netanyahu asserted the law's wording was not strong enough and should be made stricter to impose a complete ban on foreign donations from governments or international bodies to Israeli NGOs.
