Students up in arms over education minister's ethics code

Protests continued over the ethical code that would bar higher education institutions and lecturers from expressing political views in class or supporting academic boycotts. The document was authored by Prof. Asa Kasher at the request of the Minister of Education Naftali Bennett.
Many lecturers in Israel's universities and colleges have come out against the ethical code, with chairman of the Student Union said Sunday that he would do all that was necessary "to ensure that the code in its current format does not pass until the system is shut down."
President reuven Rivlin seemed to share the protestors' opinion, stating that "Art, culture and science are not the property of anyone."
