The US embassy pressured senior Lebanese officials to deny visas to Hamas members who had recently been expelled from Qatar. This was reported in a-Sharq al-Awsat newspaper.
Qatar recently expelled several senior members of the organization following American pressure. Among the senior officials who were expelled were Salah al-'Aruri and Musa Dodin, who tried to establish the organization's infrastructure in Judea and Samaria.
