Soldier indicted for rape of fellow female soldier

An indictment was filed against Sergeant Eliav Hasid on Wednesday for rape of a female soldier who served with him in a mixed combat battalion in the base barracks at the end of April. The military court extended his remand by one week.
The affair was revealed three weeks ago with the arrest of a Hasid, who serves as a driver in the battalion. The female soldier complained that Hasid attacked her sexually several times, even at the base where they served. The soldier claimed in his defense that this was a consensual sex, as there was a romantic relationship between them.
