Kushner, Greenblatt and Friedman meeting with Netanyahu described as positive

Jared Kushner, who is a senior advisor to US President Donald Trump on the Middle East, met on Wednesday in Jerusalem with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his senior advisers, Trump advisor to Israel and Special Representative for International Negotiations Jason Greenblatt and  US Ambassador to Israel David Friedman.

 

The meeting was described as positive, with both sides reaffirming their commitment to advancing Trump's goal of achieving a genuine and long-lasting peace between Israel and the Palestinians, which will strengthen stability in the region. The officials officialsstressed that it would take time to achieve peace, and the importance of doing everything possible to create an atmosphere conducive to peacemaking.

 

Kushner and Greenblatt are set to meet with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas and his senior advisors in Ramallah next. The two will then return to Washington and debrief President Trump, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and National Security Advisor, General H. R. McMaster.
