Israeli Arab suspected of being ISIS sympathizer indicted
An Israeli Arab was indicted Sunday for sympathizing with ISIS and making preparations to join the terror organization's ranks.
Muhammad Ahmed Azzam from Kfar Manda was arrested in a joint operation of the Shin Bet and Israel Police earlier this month.
Azzam was allegedly in contact with ISIS militants and supporters, followed ISIS propaganda online and recently made "tangible preparations to leave for the combat zone in order to join the ranks of ISIS fighters," the Shin Bet said in a statement.
