"In some areas, temperatures are approaching extreme values that are not normally measured," said meteorologist Tzachi Waxman.
According to Waxman, temperatures are expected to be around 47 degrees Celsius (116 degrees Fahrenheit) in the Jordan Valley, Beit She'an, the Dead Sea and the Arava.
In fact, temperatures are so high in certain parts of the country that one man cooked an egg on the hood of his vehicle.
Waxman also added that in the Tel Aviv area "temperatures will stand at around 32-33 degrees Celsius (89-91 degrees Fahrenheit), but with the humidity, temperatures will feel around 40 degrees Celsius (104 degrees Fahrenheit)."
The extreme heat poses a significant safety issue and the IDF has even taken precautions, cancelling all training exercises Monday for fear of heat strokes and dehydration.
In addition to the IDF, MDA has also been vocal concerning the dangers of extreme heat, particularly during the Britney Spears concert. MDA has issued special instructions for concert-goers, providing shade while urging the tens of thousands expected to bring water and sunscreen.
Hundreds of paramedics and doctors are expected to be present at the concert and provide medical assistance as needed.
Israelis are flocking to beaches in a respite from the heat and even animals at Israel's zoos are being receiving special care in order to stay safe from the extreme temperatures.
