Asalim Stream disaster: A third of ibex population dead due to pollution
None
Following the accidental pollution of the Asalim Stream in the Negev Desert, the Israel Nature and Parks Authority found two more dead ibexes in the Asalim Stream. The ibexes, male and female, were located on Thursday. Eight dead ibexes have been identified out of a herd of 26.
Earlier this month, the Rotem Amfert acid pool was breached, causing the stream to be polluted, thus killing many of the animals killed in the area. The Green Police opened a criminal investigation against the plant and its parent company, Israel Chemicals.
