The police arrested Amjad Shahami, a 42-year-old resident of Wadi Joz, on suspicion of incitement.

Suspicion was allegedly raised during a sermon delivered by the Shahami—a well known religious figure—at the Friday prayer near the Lions' Gate.

The Jerusalem Magistrate's Court extended his remand until tomorrow.
