Taliban stalk hospital killing wounded police
An Afghan health official says Taliban fighters, after capturing the remote district of Taywara in western Ghor province, stalked the corridors of the only hospital looking for wounded Afghan National Security personnel to kill.
Provincial public health department director Ghulam Nabi Yaghana says he has received reports that Taliban fighters killed four or five patients.
The area is remote and telephone communication is sporadic, he told The Associated Press in a telephone interview from the provincial capital of Ferozkoh. He said the Taliban entered the 20-bed hospital early Sunday soon after capturing the district center. They killed the patients they believed were military or police personnel, he said.
