Suspicious vehicle flees when Palestinian occupants refuse to present ID
A suspicious vehicle approached a checkpoint near the Qalandiya refugee camp Wednesday where the three occupants were asked to present their identity cards. Instead of doing so, the driver accelerated and fled the scene, prompting one of the Border Police soldiers to fire several shots into the air.
After scouring the area, the soldiers located the abandoned vehicle a few dozen meters from the checkpoint.
The incident is being investigated but and initial findings do not indicate an attempted car-ramming attack.
