Mother of terror victim faces down terrorist in court
Sarah Rosenfeld, mother of Malachi Rosenfeld—who was murdered in West Bank shooting attack—faced down Amjad Hamad in a military court hearing, saying, 'I was afraid Malachi's voice couldn't be heard through the earth, so I came to help make sure it was.'
"I was afraid that Malachi's voice couldn't be heard through the earth, so I came to help make sure it was," said Rosenfeld.
Rosenfeld avoided making eye contact with the defendant, Amjad Mustafa Salah Hamad, who was convicted last April of being an accessory to murder and supplying weapons to the terrorist cell.
"This is a lot of emotional effort on my part, but I decided to come for my son, even though I know nothing would bring him back."
Rosenfeld addressed the court, saying, "I wanted to remind (everyone) there is blood on the hands of this evil man. Precious blood, rare blood, the blood of a big and important man. I wanted to emphasize the difference between him and my son. The difference between the power of love and the power of hate."
At the end of the hearing, Hamad requested permission to speak and expressed remorse, saying, "I admit that I made a mistake and I regret my actions."
