IDF chief of staff decides on series of new army position appointments

The chief of staff, Lt. Gen. Gadi Eizenkot, decided Monday on a series of new army appointments.
Among the appointments was Colonel Shai Klapper who will command the Golani Brigade.
Klapper, who now serves as the commander of training and in the past commanded the Samaria Brigade, served in the past as commander of Battalion 51 of the Golani Brigade and is now in charge of it.
Two air force bases will receive new commanders. Colonel Yoav will be appointed commander of the Palmachim base and will be promoted to Brigadier General. Colonel Aviad will be appointed commander of the Hatzerim base and he will also be promoted to Brigadier General.
Another appointment in the Air Force is Colonel Amir, who will be appointed head of the intelligence division and promoted to the rank of brigadier general.
In addition, Colonel David Songo will be appointed Commander of the 401th Armored Corps.
Colonel Yair Barkat will be appointed Chief Military Police Officer and promoted to Brigadier General.
Brig. Gen. David Sa'ar Salameh will be appointed deputy commander of the Depth Corps.
All appointments require the approval of Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman.
