Haifa resident shot dead, son suspected as accidental shooter
A 63-year-old Haifa resident was killed Saturday night after being shot in the head, and his son was arrested this morning on suspicion of involvement in the act.
The police are investigating, among other things, the claim that the bullet was fired from the son's pistol.
Police and forensics investigators were summoned to the house and arrested the deceased 26-year-old son. The initial investigation raises suspicions that the son, who works as a security guard and holds a licensed gun, shot his father accidentally while handling the weapon.
According to the son's version, the shooting took place while he transferred the gun to the safe.
The police did not contradict the son's version, although the investigation is still underway.
