Hundreds protest before Petah Tikva police station after being stopped from protesting AG's home over PM corruption allegations

Hundreds of demonstrators who were stopped by police from protesting near Attorney General Avihai Mandelblit's house on Saturday protested instead in front of the Petah Tikva police station.

Police blocked many streets in Petah Tikva earlier to prevent protesters from reaching the attorney general's house by car. Residents were allowed to pass while the demonstrators were asked to turn around. The police made it clear that it would not allow a demonstration in the area because there was no permit for one.

The police detained Mani Naftali, one of the organizers of the demonstration who had also sued the Netanyahus for the way they allegedly treated him while he worked at the Prime Minister's Residence, on suspicion of disturbing public order. Attorney and journalist Eldad Yaniv, himself a die-hard Netanyahu detractor, was also detained for questioning.
