Two suspected members of Barcelona plot tell court imam was instigator

MADRID – Two of the four suspected members of an Islamist group which carried out the attacks in Catalonia last week that killed 15 told the judge a local imam was the instigator of the plot, a source familiar with the matter said.

Abdelbaki Es Satty, a former imam in the town of Ripoll where most of the members of the cell were from, died in a blast at a house the night before a van ploughed into crowds in Barcelona as the group was preparing explosives to launch a larger attack.
