President Reuven Rivlin participated in a panel on issues in the education system on Wednesday evening.
"Toward next year, I beg you, stop this inciting debate with each other," he said. "Politics is important, very important in democracy. But not everything is politics. Let's understand that we all live here in this country not to hate each other."
The president was also asked about the growing discourse about "the religiosity of the education system" and the fear of some of the parents about the issue, and said that "the word religiosity' is very inciteful.
"We must not fear Judaism," he answered. "We should teach it to every person according to his faith, each according to his customs."
