Soldier who raped another soldier in his unit to serve two years

A military tribunal sentenced Sergeant-Major N. to two years in prison Tuesday. The soldier was convicted by his own admission this past April of raping and forceful indecent assault of another soldier in his unit. His admission followed a plea bargain, presented to the complainant, who agreed to it.
In addition to the prison time, N.—who was demoted to the rank of private—will pay the soldier damages and was also given further suspended time.
"The IDF shuns any form of sexual assault within its ranks," said the IDF Spokesperson's Unit, "and will continue to prosecute those responsible of committing these offenses to the fullest extent of the law."
