Four rabbis running for municipal rabbi positions suspected of fraud, impersonation
None
Four rabbis from different cities who ran for the position of city rabbi were arrested on suspicion of fraud, breach of trust, forgery and impersonation.
The rabbis are suspected of fraudulently obtaining an "eligibility certificate" allowing them to run for senior public office without passing certification exams and other methods, including forging exam results registration, sending someone else to take the exam in their stead and even directly appealing to the exam's grader.
