Soldier seriously injured from grenade during training

An IDF soldier was seriously injured when a grenade exploded during training at a base in the south of the country.
The soldier was evacuated to a hospital for medical treatment.
The military police opened an investigation into the incident. The Ground Forces Commander, Major General Kobi Barak, instructed the establishment of a team of experts headed by Col. Shuki Ribak to investigate the circumstances of the incident.
It was also decided to stop using grenades during training until the end of the initial investigation.
