Rami Levy denies receiving benefits from council

Rami Levy Hashikma Marketing commented on the businessman's arrest on suspicion of fraud and breach of trust offenses, saying the Mevaseret mall in question received no discounts or benefits from the local council in return for not paying betterment taxes.
While the mall's marketing director was the council head's ex-wife, she was not appointed while still in a relationship with him, the company said, and the mall's general manager—also close to the council head—had managed malls in the past.
Levy was arrested along with the head of the Mevaseret local council on suspicion of promoting the mall's expansion without paying betterment taxes in return for employing the latter's wife and the head of his election campaign.
