Def. Min. Lieberman: Every Israeli 18-year-old must draft into IDF

Defense Minister Avigdor Liebeman stated on Wednesday that all Israeli 18-year-olds will be expected to draft into the Israeli army.

He made the statement during a toast for the new year.

Lieberman's comments come following the High Court of Justice's majority ruling on Tuesday, which canceled an amendment ratified by the Knesset that has increased the amount of Haredim exempt from the draft. With the court’s ruling that the adjustment was unconstitutional, the government will now be required to increase the quota of Haredi conscripts within one year.
