Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh phoned Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in light of the breakthrough in the talks between the warring Palestinian factions and Hamas's announcement regarding the abolition of the administrative committee ruling Gaza.
Abbas was pleased with the air of reconciliation, but made no promise to remove the sanctions throttling Gazans.
