Secretary-General of the PLO's Executive Committee and chief negotiator Saeb Erekat successfully underwent a lung transplant operation in a hospital in Virginia, US.
Erekat, 62, suffered from a lung illness in the past year and was on a transplant waiting list in Israel, Jordan and the US.
