Knesset legal advisor objects to PM's proposal for inquiry committee into foreign funding

Knesset legal advisor Eyal Yinon commented in a letter to Knesset Speaker Yoel Edelstein on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's announcement that he intends to advance a proposal to establish a parliamentary committee of inquiry into "foreign funding for Israeli organizations operating against IDF soldiers."
The letter said that "the subject in question cannot be a matter for parliamentary investigation, parliamentary investigation of civil society organizations on ideological grounds is contrary to basic administrative principles."
