UN Mid-East envoy: 'I denounce Hamas leaders' calls for Israel's destruction'
UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process Nikolay Mladenov denounced statements made by leaders of Hamas calling for the destruction of Israel, and especially the word of the organization's leader in Gaza Yahya Sinwar.
"I denounce the latest statements by some of Hamas's leaders calling for the destruction of Israel," Mladenov said.
"Under the auspices of Egypt, Palestinians leaders have undertaken an attempt to solve the grave humanitarian crisis in Gaza and allow the Palestinian government to carry out its duties there. I encourage them to not be distracted from these goals," he added.
