Raed Salah's appeal against his detainment is rejected

The Haifa District Court rejected the appeal filed by Sheikh Raed Salah, leader of the northern branch of the Islamic Movement, over the decision of the Haifa Magistrate's Court to detain him until the end of legal proceedings against him, after it determined that his statements constituted as incitement and a tangible risk to public safety.

Judge Erez Porat wrote in his decision that "Salah repeated his blood-dripping remarks again and again in a tense and volatile public situation, and thus revealed himself to be dangerous to public safety. He repeatedly attacks the government and the security authorities in a manner that encourages more acts of terror against them."
