State Comptroller: Transport Ministry severely neglected bridge maintenance
None
The State Comptroller's report reveals that the Ministry of Transport did not work to maintain bridges and did not provide instructions for their maintenance.
A survey of bridges conducted by Netivei Israel in 2016 revealed that 145 bridges were rated "severe"; 517 bridges were rated "very poor"; And 442 bridges were rated "poor."
The comptroller determines that large discrepancies were found between the actions Israel's routes were supposed to follow due to the state of the roads and the professional guidelines that were needed, and what it actually did and instructed to do.
This discrepancies, according to the comptroller's office, "endanger the safety of all—drivers, passengers and pedestrians."
