Tel Aviv supermarkets to remain open on Shabbat

Outgoing Supreme Court Chief Justice Miriam Naor announced during her retirement ceremony she rejected the petition to close Tel Aviv supermarkets on Shabbat and the previous verdict on the matter remains binding.
"My ruling does not reflect a secular or religious viewpoint. The verdict is merely the appropriate interpretation of the law," she said.
