Israeli judoka Tal Flicker (under-66kg) won a gold medal at the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam 2017 judo tournament after defeating Azerbaijani judoka Nijat Shikhalizada.
Additionally, Israeli judoka Gili Cohen (under-52kg) won the bronze medal after overcoming a third-place battle over Portuguese judoka Joana Ramos.
According to the organizers' decree, the Israeli flag will not be shown when they step up to the podium, and in its place will be the flag of the International Judo Association (IJF).
In addition, Israel's national anthem will not be played during the medals ceremony.
