Palestinians in the Gaza Strip report six people killed and ten more wounded in the detonation of the terrorist tunnel that penetrated Israeli territory near Kissufim.
According to preliminary and unofficial estimates both in Israel and in Gaza, the tunnel was built by terrorist members of Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ)—the largest terrorist organization in the strip after Hamas.
The organization did not take responsibility for the tunnel, but said this evening after the tunnel was collapsed: "we will protect our people and our land."
The IDF has placed Iron Dome batteries near the site for fear of rockets being fired by extremists in retaliation to the attack.
