Senior Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) member Khaled al-Batsh alluded that Monday's exploded tunnel on the Gaza border was intended for the kidnapping of Israeli civilians to be exchanged for imprisoned Hamas operatives.
"We will continue our battle out of determination," al-Batsh said. "The tunnel of freedom that was attacked last night by the enemy was meant for the release of our prisoners. The movement will have another tunnel for the release of the prisoners.
"The enemy was told that we would not allow it to reshuffle the cards or impose a new equation regarding the rules of conflict. We have the right—blood for blood; we will not give up our right to resist."
