The Supreme Court overturned Thursday the conviction of a man accused of insulting a public servant after he criticized the former IDF chief rabbi.
In 2004, Elizur Segal wrote an article against the former IDF chief rabbi, criticizing him for his conduct vis-a-vis the issues of women's service alongside men, the desecration of Shabbat and unkosher practices.
He was convicted at the Magistrate's Court, and even though the District Court reduced his sentence, the conviction remained.
