Erdan comes out against bill to bar police recommendations on indictment

Public Security Minister Gilad Erdan on Sunday came out against a bill proposal to bar the police from making a recommendation on whether or not to indict at the end of a criminal investigation.
Erdan's office said the minister believes such a ban goes against the essence of police work.
Erdan believes there is no way to finish an investigation and pass it on to the Attorney General's Office for a decision without police investigators including their professional opinion concerning the evidence collected in the case.
