Yeshiva heads and senior rabbis from the Religious Zionism movement met with IDF Chief of Staff Gadi Eisenkot on Tuesday and asked him to change the joint service order, which they say violated the rights of religious soldiers by allowing gender-mixed bases against Jewish religious laws,.
The rabbis reported at the end of the meeting that the chief of staff had promised them to look into the issue and update the controversial order within three weeks.
