Tens of thousands participate in Arafat memorial in Gaza

Tens of thousands participated in a memorial for PLO leader Yasser Arafat in the Gaza Strip on Saturday, on the 13th anniversary of his death.
After years of prohibiting such rallies in the strip, the Palestinian Authority allowed the memorial to take place, following its reconciliation agreement with Hamas.
During the memorial, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas delivered a speech via satellite, saying that "no one cares more about people in Gaza than we do." He further stated that if the two-state solution collapses, the Palestinian leadership would support a one-state solution with full equality of rights for all its citizens.
