Islamic Jihad says Israeli threat against its leadership 'a declaration of war.'
The Islamic Jihad terror group issued a statement Sunday describing Israeli threats to target its leadership should it carry out a strike as a “declaration of war.”
Responding to Maj. Gen. Yoav (Poli) Mordechai's video posted Saturday which warned that Islamic Jihad was 'playing with fire' in plotting a 'revenge attack' for the IDF's recent blowing up of a terror tunnel inside its territory, killing senior terrorists in the process, the group's statement promised to deal with the Israeli threats.
“The threat by the enemy to harm the leadership is a declaration of war and we will deal with them,” the statement said.
“These threats show the real intentions of the Zionists. The enemy forces are violating the ceasefire that was brokered by Egypt in 2014.
