Report: 'Islamic Jihad raises alertness to highest level'
Senior Palestinian Islamic Jihad officials told the Al-Hayat newspaper that the organization's military wing raised alertness to its highest level.
According to same sources, alertness was raised due to suspicions of a surprise Israeli attack on the Gaza Strip, to which PIJ will respond merely for self defense and deterrence.
In addition, it was reported the PIJ military wing is closely monitoring movements of Israelis residing on Gaza's perimeter, assisted by the use of binoculars and various photography mechanisms.
