Lieberman meets Gaza perimeter council heads for 1st time since Gaza tunnel detonation
Minister of Defense Avigdor Lieberman met local council heads from the Gaza perimeter communities Thursday night for the first time since the IDF exploded the Islamic Jihad terror tunnel.
The minister's meeting with the council heads took place at the army's Gaza Division and was also attended by GOC Southern Command Eyal Zamir and Home Front Command chief Tamir Yad'i.
Lieberman spoke about rising tensions in Gaza after the tunnel explosion and said, "The situation is still tense. We're preparing for their response, and alertness is therefore maintained."
