The Israeli government voted on Sunday a budget to create a new route to a hiking trail to pass through east Jerusalem, the West Bank and the Golan Heights, said the Minister of Tourism.
Minister of Tourism Yariv Levin invoked the economic and tourism aspect of this project, with a budget of 10 million shekels, but did not hide its ideological aspect, recalling that "the new route (from Israel's National Trail) will pass through the Old City and Shiloh, places full of Jewish history ".
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu hailed a decision "that was needed in terms of tourism potential."
