Minister Gamliel promotes gender equality in Egypt

Minister of Social Equality MK Gila Gamliel represented Israel at a regional conference to promote gender equality and empower women in Egypt.
"Since its foundation, the vision of the State of Israel is to establish an egalitarian society," she said. "Our Declaration of Independence guarantees equal rights for all citizens, regardless of religion, race or gender.
"There is no reason why women in the 21st century should be treated differently than men. Gender equality must be promoted through economic empowerment and women should be given opportunities and tools in the labor market."
