Nautical Iron Dome system declared operational

The IDF's land and air divisions declared the marine Iron Dome system to be operational after 18 months of preparations and examinations and a series of successful interception trials.
The system was designed to defend Israel's economic waters, in particular the gas drilling rigs that saw a rocket launched in their direction during Operation Protective Edge.
