Government to vote by phone to stop Shabbat train work

Government ministers are voting on amending the Hours of the Work and Rest Law so that work will be forbidden on Shabbat.
The bill is expected to receive a preliminary reading at the Knesset session Wednesday.
The amendment will allow the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs to consider Jewish tradition when allocating work permits.
The law will not affect football games on Shabbat.
