Teva workers threaten hunger strike over mass layoff plan

Workers from the Teva tablet factory in Jerusalem have decided to expand their protest internationally against the mass layoffs expected to begin this year and continue until the end of 2019.
The decision comes after an emergency meeting was held by the company committee and the Histadrut National Labor Federation Chairman Yoav Simchi.
The workers said they would continue to occupy the factory and that they are considering more drastic measures to put a halt on the redundancy plan, including staging a hunger strike.
