HCJ chief justice: 'Governance not opening door to actions against law'

None

Supreme Court Chief Justice Esther Hayut attacked Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked on a bill meant to curb the powers of the court.

In a conference organized by the Israeli Association of Public Law Hayut said, "Governance means the government ability to operate within the confines of its authority, it does not mean allowing actions that are against the law."

"The manner in which certain ministers and MKs express their views on the judiciary, regrettably, are far from showing respect and recent examples are shameful," Hayut added.
