President Rivlin clarifies he did not call on citizens to join certain protests

President Reuven Rivlin said Wednesday, "I did not call and it would never cross my mind to call on Israel's citizens to join specific protests. That is unthinkable. It's unfortunate that at this sensitive time my words were taken out of context to add fuel to the fire."
Rivlin made the clarification after praising the weekly protests against government corruption on Tuesday, emphasizing the importance of protesting on Israel’s streets, rather than simply behind a computer screen.
