Russia welcomes North and South Korea's readiness to resume dialogue, RIA news agency cited a Russian Foreign Ministry source as saying on Friday.
Moscow hopes "this positive trend will be underpinned by concrete agreements aiming at a settlement in the Korean peninsula", the source said.
North Korea agreed on Friday to hold official talks with the South next week, the first in more than two years.
